The Build-Up To The 40th Anniversary



The 40th anniversary is around the corner and Sylvia Glasser, the founder of Moving into Dance, affectionately known as ''Magogo'' is back in the country. This woman changed the nature of dance in South Africa and the last time she was here was back in 2016 she received the award of ''The Order of Ikhamanga: Silver from the Presidency for her excellence in the field of dance. So now she's back at the Market Theatre were she will be lecturing and demonstrating Afrofusion at Gramadoela’s at The Market Theatre in Newtown this Thursday. It's going to be exciting to see her at work where I'll take a seat at the forefront to learn about Afrofusion and where the future of dance leads.

MID's 40th Anniversary Experience

MOVING INTO DANCE 40th ANNIVERSARY EXPERIENCE Dane Hurst to lead a 1 week choreographic workshop Joining a contemporary dance company and coming inside the studio walls and seeing professional dancers doing "their thing" was a great experience. I am an aspiring PR intern who's doing his in-service training at MID , so seeing dancers perfecting their craft is overwhelming. The 40th anniversary is coming up soon and I'm excited about it. When the 40th anniversary takes place on the 14th of September  I will be taking my seat on the bleachers right there beside you and if you feel the need to bring your organic snacks and fizzy drinks that's ok.
